These guys were my “crew” in Grinnell. I lived with Taylor for two years, Pat for one year and for all practical purposed lived with all four of them for four years. Now, we’re spread around the country: Minnesota, Montana, Colorado, Maine, and wherever Pat is right now (he’s a 1-man crew on his sailboat which he took from Maine to Bermuda and beyond). College is such a formative time in one’s life and to have friends like these, all with completely different personalities, goals, activities, they’ve left a mark on my life that I’ll never forget. They’d all be groomsmen if there weren’t four of them. We’re all individuals and not known to work to maintain long-distance friendships, but somehow we’ve stuck together and been pretty successful getting together once a year since graduation. This year is a wedding, next year – who knows!
