Grandma's Goulash 1 7-ounce package Creamettes, cooked as directed, drained, and rinsed 1# ground beef, browned Fry bacon and remove from grease. Fry chopped celery and chopped onion in bacon grease until glazed. Remove grease. Mix all ingredients: Creamettes, ground beef, fried bacon, celery, onions, tomatoes, tomato soup, salt and pepper. Bake at 350" in 9x13 pan, uncovered, until heated through, 30-40 minutes. Jill's Variation: For a healthier dish, Jill cooked the celery and chopped onion in water and beef bouillon rather than bacon grease. John's Variation: For a more flavorful dish, John cooked the celery and chopped onion in olive oil (not bacon grease because he used microwave bacon) and beef bouillon. |
