Deb Lengkeek, Shannon's mother-in-law-to-be,
brought this to our gathering in
- 1. Clean 3 cups (1 to 1 pounds) of navy beans (or the smallest white
- 2. Soak beans 12-16 hours in a crockpot, covered in deep water.
- 3. drain and rinse the beans
- 4. Combine:
- 1 c. catsup
- ½ c. brown sugar
- 1½ cup water
- 2 ts. dry mustard
1 raw onion, chopped (opt.)
1/4 pound cut up bacon or ham (opt.)
- 1 Tb salt
- 2 Tb molasses
- 5. Cook on high in covered crockpot
10-12 hours, stirring once in middle.
