2 large egg whites
2 tsp. cold water
1 tsp. salt
2 cups granulated sugar
4 tsp. ground cinnamon
2 tsp. grated nutmeg
½ tsp. ground ginger
¼ tsp. ground cloves
½ pound pecan halves
Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Grease cookie sheets.
Beat egg whites, water and salt in small bowl until combined
Sift together granulated sugar and spices into medium-size bowl.
Pour about ½ cup pecans at a time into egg mixture; mix to coat. Remove pecans with a fork, allowing excess to drip back into bowl. Roll nuts in sugar mixture to light but thoroughly coat.
Arrange nuts on greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 300 degrees for 25 minutes or until firm to the touch. Cool 2 – 3 minutes on cookie sheet then transfer to wire rack to cool. Dust nuts lightly with confectioners’ sugar. Store in airtight containers.
